My two delightful youngsters have become increasingly lazy and disinclined towards almost any form of physical exertion. They moan and groan about everything from tidying their rooms to popping to the shops and they’ve both begun to become rather plump.

I decided that positive encouragement was needed, rather than simply telling them off for being lazy. So I shelled out some cash on a good sized 14ft trampoline and a top quality playset for our garden. What a difference these simple outdoor toys have made.

While they still moan about tidying their rooms or helping with a few chores they can’t wait to get home from school, often with a few friends, and spend some hours playing safely on their playset and trampoline. Now if only I could train them to mow the lawn.
