Motorway Chase Recovers Stolen RIB

A rigid inflatable boat (RIB), stolen from Sefton Sea Cadets Litherland base in Liverpool, was recovered after a dramatic 40 mile motorwary chase.

The RIB was part of a £15,000 haul of items stolen from their base in April. Cadet leader Ken Griffiths spotted the boat being towed by a land rover in the opposite direction on the M62.

He turned his car around and followed the stolen vehicle as he alerted police. When he and the police eventually caught up with the vehicle Mr Griffiths was readily able to prove ownership as he had keys to the trailer.

A man was arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods.
