The architect is a person that we cannot live without. Where would you be without him or her? You would be living in the wild without a shelter. Your work would not occur in an office building. They have and always will be an essential part of science, art and technology. They play an integral part in civilization. They study history and art. They know mathematics and urban codes to ensure that buildings are built according to specifications. We definitely would not want a building to fall apart while we are inside. Their designs are part of our daily lives.

When a student is drawn to architecture, a decision to select a specialty must be made. There are a number of areas in architecture to choose from. The world of architecture allows the practitioner to focus their talents. Some of the areas include interior design, commercial architecture, residential architecture and landscape architecture. The educational background is similar for all architects and consists of a broad selection of classes in the arts. It should make sense considering an architect is a talented artist who uses wood, concrete or steel to bring his or her concepts and designs to fruition.

After acquiring a bachelors degree. Most architects go on to get a Masters degree. During this extended period of study they are able to concentrate on a particular specialty. During this period, many architects will enter a period of internship programs. Some of these programs will allow the intern to work at several different architectural firms, which broadens their experience. This will assist them when the time comes to choose where they would like to be employed.

While most architects and artists. Many have developed an appreciation of fine arts and are able to incorporate this appreciation into their designs. Throughout history, architecture has played a tremendous role. Without architects, we would not have the pyramids, the Taj Mahal or Mount Rushmore as memorials to past civilizations. There will always be a need for architects in this world.
